You can't choose both
Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 03:45PM During my college days I worked as a DJ at a radio station. It was in a very small market with a transmitter tower a little larger than a coat hanger. My school sat in the middle of a small town called Pineville. Appropriately named. This “ville” had lots of pines. I also competed in speech tournaments which I enjoyed. My only problem was time. My radio shift began to conflict with the tournaments, which I enjoyed immensely. I loved traveling to events, competing and the relationships I had cultivated over the months on the team. Finally my professor said, “I need you to make a decision. This job of yours is not helping us. You need to decide. Are you going to be a part time DJ and that hole-in-the-wall radio station or are you going to show some leadership on this team?” As a minor side-note, I quit the team. But the point is, we all have to come to that fork in the road and make a decision. Jesus is saying choose your God but keep in mind, I don’t share! I won’t compete with your worship of money.
