It is quiet here

Meditation on Hosea 2:14-

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her in the wilderness …”

I ask the Lord
why the wilderness?
Because it is quiet here.
The supreme gift I wish to give you in this broken world is the very thing you resist.
You are far too entrenched in the system of debate, pride and reaction.
I bring you here to get away from the opinions of man.
I have given you My Word
Is that not enough to satisfy your mind?
I have given you My Spirit.
Is that not enough to arouse your heart?
I have given you my presence.
Is that not enough to exceed the boundaries of your loneliness? 
And I have given you the wilderness so you may know.
So that you may know that I Am enough.
While you lust for the city
I am alluring You into the wilderness.
