what He could have done (Gen 20)

favor is random toward me for there are ten thousand better suited for blessing

i have held contempt, loss, deception, barrenness

in my hands to save my flesh from pain

but favor rests in every place i've lain

he teaches me more about grace and miracles

of glory and unmerited favor

of blessing far beyond labor

he could have made the story more sensible, more logical

but no...

he wanted to show me crazy divine grace

and there is no formula for that.
