Sarah and God (Gen 18)

 Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?Is anything too hard for the LORD ? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."

 Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, "I did not laugh." 
      But he said, "Yes, you did laugh."

The saying goes, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.  But this story tells the opposite truth. God's plans sometimes make us laugh.

For instance-  Matt Tullos: Pastor---  That makes me laugh every time I hear it.  It gets me every time! Matt, pastor.  I try to hold it in but it's like trying to unwrap a peppermint during a very dull sermon.  Even the organist can hear it. 

Matt:  "Me? Laugh?  Noooooooo......

God:  "Oh yes you did."

Matt: OK Maybe it made me laugh a little...

God:  No.  You laughed.-- more than a little. And Darlene.. she laughed too.
