Short Monologue for this Sunday
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 07:39AM One of our worship team members will be doing this short dramatic introduction to Arise My Love.
Voice: It is finished!
Satan: What did you say? It is finished? It is finished? Ha! You’re finished!
Did you think you could actually come down here and take what’s mine without a fight? What did you expect from me? You couldn’t even keep your twelve followers together. I saw your miracles but in my opinion- my noble opinion... You show have set your sites higher. No one cares about lepers, the demon possessed, the widows. Perhaps if you would have concentrated more on the powers I’ve established then you would have given me a better fight. But it’s too late to talk strategy now. You time is obviously up. I must confess, this was indeed easier than I expected.
And so here we are. Again. You cast me out of heaven a long time ago and now the score is even. You are no longer welcome here. Do you understand that? Can you even think, Jesus? You’re a mess! I didn’t think you’d survive the beating and now here you are still breathing between two theives. What a gross underestimation of my power. But not for long. I know death well. You’re close. So very close.
Voice: Father into Your hands I commend My Spirit.
Satan: I think he’s gone. I think he’s… He’s not breathing! He’s dead! Ha! I’ve won! Since Bethlehem’s star I’ve waited for this moment and it’s here. This lamb? You said that this lamb would crush me. What nonsense! I have crushed him. And now it’s all mine. Creation is mind! The last drop of blood has been shed in this foolish attempt to foil my plans mankind. Let the angels, mortals- those on the earth, and under the earth- let them know that I’ve won! It’s over! We’ll never hear from him again.
