1: to the Philippians.

2: And now to our church in Hendersonville, Tennessee

1: Therefore, my dear friends,

2: as you have always obeyed—

1: not only in my presence,

2: but now much more in my absence—

1: continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

2: for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

1: Do everything without complaining or arguing,

2: so that you may become blameless

1: and pure,

Both: children of God

1: without fault

2: in a crooked and depraved generation

1: in which you shine like stars in the universe

2: as you hold out the word of life—

1: in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
