a few thoughts on the church

Becoming a blessing to the world is our magnificent obsession. Let's face the fact that most Christians today are viewed with more than a little skepticism- they've seen us screaming at sinners, politicizing the gospel, beating down the already beaten down and refusing to cooperate with others to bring about peace.

This atmosphere begs for us to be the kind of church modeled after a Savior that had a scandalous love of sinners and the needy. He cared not about perception, appearance or social status. He just cared about people.

Great stuff. Very "Emerging". Have you checked out Acts 29? It has some good info on the emerging church. Check out Darrin Patrick's 3-part podcast entitled "The History & Streams of the Emerging Church" "Popular Terms of Emerging" and "Emerging church - the good, the bad, and the ugly."
