    Divine Mercy Sunday

Our Catholic brothers and sisters celebrate this as Divine Mercy Sunday. I don't know very much about it but I am intrigued with the idea- A Sunday to celebrate the mercy of Christ that was lavished on us through the passion of the cross. God's mercy is pure joy. It's underscored through the Holy week of the passion and resurrection of Christ but I do believe we need another worship day just to bask in the greatness of all the release and liberation that was achieved through Christ.

Lord, I am in awe of your mercy!

matt, i am in awe of your intuitiveness! i am not a *normal* Catholic in that i don't post novenas, i don't speak of matters that were developed through private revelation...as Catholics, we are given the option to believe or not believe and if it strengthens our faith, that's cool :)

i like the spin you put on it, however. you actually helped me see it in a new light because if truth be told, whenever i saw the nine days of prayer leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday all over the blogdom these past days, my eyes tended to glaze over and i didn't pay much attention (God forgive me if He finds it offensive). in its simplicity, however as you explained above, i can find myself "on-board."

    :)

(btw - i read you all the time, just don't comment very much. know when you are in the throes of big projects or much travel, i pray for traveling mercies for your and that your work bear much fruit...)
