appearances on the road

They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.

Luke 24:13-16

The surprises continue after the resurrection. Jesus shows up on the road. How many times have I missed Jesus as I go from one destination to another. I don't recognize Him in the rush of destination during the holiness of the journey.

It's been a pattern of Jesus to appear on the road.

On the bus to youth camp
In the food line of the mission- an hour before the actual service.
In the car on the way to grandparents.
in the foyer of the evangelism conference.
on the waffle house after the project
in bed when you're in the halfway point between awake and asleep

God shows up and i know that sometimes i completely miss His epiphany.

"Lord, I know I miss the subtleties and the small clues of your appearance in my life. Teach me how to see you because I don't want to miss out!
