    Lamentation 20607

When in a place of discontent
mind settling like a leaf in the face of the first surprise of Autumn
i reach past the landscape of melancholy hills and
    grey slush nights
to recall with praise upon my lips
like songs of Kings and shepherds.
    (hold on again, i whisper)
though fearsome exclusion enfolds unwanted news
mangling the hollow malaise into nothingness valley
    Sweet Jesus- I stand
surrendered to the land and hopeful
    even now
that far flung testament will prove the path
    of purpose
amidst the rub of wicked hollow doubt.
