thoughts on Church inc. (my rant on church practices)

This crazy concept of following Christ is so often mired in pedantic and self-saving mechanisms. The organization called church inc. is a big factory of nonbiblical moras. So often i think we take the Bible and choose what we want like an theological Chinese buffet rich with sweet and sour worship and kung pow preaching in climate controlled edifices. We believe in the things that suit best our biosphere. We so often forget that the early church was fighting religious bigotry with radical kindness and far-reaching devotion. The story of the early church when reeeeeeally studied has very little to do with the Church inc. I grew up with. No buildings... No flashy Christian bands... no business meetings... They were romantic in their approach-- they were dwelling in caves and being thrown to REAL lions...

It's quite hard to find the Biblical church in Church inc today. Where did we go wrong? When did we become so enamored with wealth and glitz? Why is Church Inc so easily drawn into political debates, protests, boycotts etc... What would Jesus really do? Do we believe that a pagan culture will be drawn to Christians who are so focused in on winning elections and stopping sin instead of loving with great love?

This rant will continue later-- I must have eaten something questionable last night.

    Garden State quote:

Sam: You're in it right now, aren't you?
    Andrew Largeman: What?
Sam: My mom always says that, when she can see I'm like working something out in my head, she's like, 'you're in it right now' and I'm looking at you're telling this story, and you're definitely in it.
