oh the joys of transitions
Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11:27PM the difficult part of all this change will be the great effort of moving. boxes, a house to sell, the uncertainty- yes everything, even a move, especially a move, is spiritual.
Lord guide our steps and teach us absolute surrender to your will and your call. surprise us and remind us that You are running with us. I need this deeply settling under my skin and into my bones- that this isn't just another human solution to my logistical needs and desires-- that this is calling in its highest and most glorious form-- if it isn't- spare me sound and fury. Make the vote of the people a sure statement of Your voice that I have felt so strongly over the past three months.

I have throughly enjoyed the last year as you being our interim pastor at BGB. You have such passion and enthusiasm for building the Kingdom for Christ. God has certainly given you a gift for spreading the good news.
God has given BGB a choice to select you as our pastor or not. I listened to a radio show right before coming to our Deacons meeting tonight. It affirmed my vote for you.
The radio commentator made a comment that many churches are like morgues with steeples on top. Someone called in to the radio and was condemplating leaving their dead church because they did not feel connected. The radio pastor commented to the lady..."you are not there to be connected, you are there to serve and connect others to our Savior. God led you there to lead others to do the same...Only Satan grows dead churches...he said to her, stand firm, be a leader and grow that church for Christ...
I sat in the car and let that message sink in a while. I discovered we are not here to entertained or connected. We are commissioned by Christ to connect others to Him. Matt you are God's vessel to connect us with others for Christ. I feel confident that you will be selected by the majority of BGB. If not it will be our lost. We will survive and will have lost an opportunity to connect more lost people with Christ. I will pray for your confirmation for our pastor. May God give you and your family comfort and peace through this tough decision.
Bless you, Brother!
If your boys need someone to talk to about Hendersonville, Ellis, and Indian Lake have them talk to or call Hayden (9th grade) (772.6510) or Savannah (7th grade) (772.1656).
They have enjoyed there school experience in Sumner County. That was the main reason we move to Hendersonville was for the schools and safe, friendly community.
We will keep an eye out for a house for you. God spoke to me last night and said you were the one for BGB. So I guess dude it is a done deal...so don't fret and start packing.....If you need help moving or need boxes let us know. God is good...
