10 things that dry up the creative cistern
Monday, January 15, 2007 at 05:27PM 1. a limiting of creative food- good books, silence, reflection, music, worship- these are the building blocks of the creative life.
2. Ego- "Free me of myself so that I may be used of thee." Prayer of Michelangelo
3. Lack of Holy Muse.
4. Deficit of purposeful anger. (oh yes)
5. exhaustion.
6. Death of dreams
7. Playlessness.
8. A strong urge not to fail immensely. (Most great achievements began as catastrophic failures.)
9. a submission to normality.
10. Walls
