I must confess...

I wish i lived my life like Steve Irwin lived his. he exuded the passion and dangerous wonder that Christians should exude.  The look of wonder in his eyes at every creature. I don't know if he was a believer in God but he challenged me to live with passion and wonder. i don't know many Christians living with that kind of intensity- possible exception being my father.  i mourn Steve's death and i'll miss his energy and force- he inspired me and i worshipped God when I watched his amazement.

The man is dead. Long live the God who created him.

I don't know what his personal relationship was like, but, I've heard him refer to God when talking about how magnificent these animals are.

My 8 year old son, who has ADHD and rarely lets you in on his deep feelings about things asked me, "Did Steve Irwin REALLY die?" Steve is similar to this generation of kids what Mr. Rogers was to ours (or mine at least! :).
