Mark 4:34

He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.

There are so many things I don't understand about the life Christ has called me to live.

I read books.
I study words.
I experiment and try my best to emulate his teachings.
I receive advice.
I serve.

But I realize and confess that my clear understanding of the gospel and the walk to the cross is found here in this small verse. I must be alone with him. No book, ancient or modern, no experience- painful or pleasurable, no screed- religious or spiritual, will bring my soul into divine connection. Only time alone with Him will explain the crucible's and mission i experience.
