Prayers and thanks
Monday, July 3, 2006 at 08:57AM I've received so many emails from friends and unknown members of the body of Christ on I.'s behalf. The outpouring has been humbling to say the least. This weekend we once again started from scratch with I. We have a plan in place for him to (over time) rebuild our trust. I. over the past few days has seemed more open to the Father- for this we are grateful and credit this to Him and the prayers of so many warriors. We have to believe that God is working even though our prayers have gone unanswered for so long (in my terms - not God's). right now we are feeling the effects of the past few days on our other kids. We had a night this weekend when all six of us were crying simultaneously. It was quite a scene. The other guys need more from me and yet I must confess that there hasn't been very much of me to go around. I'm committed to be the man for them.
We are learning so much that we have to believe God will use in the future.
What we've learned so far (great and small):
1. The sorrow of God when his beloved rejects him.
2. The vanity of self-surviving tactics and our need for absolute surrender
3. The tactics of the enemy to render Christians paralytic and fearful.
4. How to do drug tests.
5. How to pray through feelings of abandonment.
6. The importance of physical exercise in times of stress.
7. That when you are holding on by a thread the Father is there so just let go.
One great blessing has been our Church Harpeth Heights Baptist in Bellevue. The guys are really plugged in and our youth ministerr is incredible!
This Thursday Isaac will begin attending a Christ-centered recovery group at Brentwood Baptist. I beg for your prayers. God is good and His love never fails.
White-knuckling this verse today:
Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you've got, be resolute, and love without stopping.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (The Message)
