    observing uncertainty

    i could not ever be any more surprised
    heartbroken
    and yet in bliss
    the release of expectation and the solemn tombs of intent
    reminding me that ghosts bring no comfort to the presentness of my journey
    i see the forms and imprints
    and the beauty of sunsets falling with such florid splendor
    that this sudden grace swallows me whole
    and creates symmetry and chaos
    (i do not know how they dance together.
    but they do- (listen to the laughter of children for proof)
    cars glide down corridors of unforgiving asphalt and melting hope.
    like blood in veins
    and will continue long after i leave
    and yes a mystery it is
    and yes a sorrow it is
    and yes maddening it is
    and yes wondrous it is
    and yes it will be yes until...
