    Stuck on the phrase...

in stuart townsend's lyric, From life’s first cry to final breath
    Jesus commands my destiny

I was reminded several times today that this is really true. Why should I fear life or death- Jesus is at the helm. I hurt for those who don't have the hope of Christ. To see life as one series of random events in fame, fortune, tragedy and poverty. All life seems to be like a staggering wind through the fagile leaves and branches of circumstance. We have a Commander who has set the stars in place and knows the hands of time. And i find even more solace in the fact that Almighty God knows what He is up to. And it's a good thing, because I don't. I can second guess His timing. I can arm chair quarterback the whims of fate but it's all tales told by an idiot, a baptist or both. God is the commander of my destiny. he holds my life in his hands. It was never my role to enter and it will not be my role to determine my exit. I can only trust that my devotion to Christ will find me faithful to the last breath.
