    Just asking myself these questions

I was thinking about this as I drove into the new parking garage in my nice comfortable car:

    (humor me)

What would it be like if Jesus chose to erase His memory and asked me to give him a tour of what's been happening in the kingdom?

What would he think about the buildings we built for him (and us)?
How would He react to the bumper stickers, the merchandise, the culture of Christianity?

What would He say about all the people who chose not to go but to stay. (People like me.) Who never finished the sentence of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and....

What would He say about our executive boards and our newly created reality or sweet smelling flowers and our judges (you know, those people who, like scribes and rulers of synagogues) tell you what's right or wrong politically? Would He see any difference in the 1st century version and the 21st century version. Would He see any difference in me?

Would he give me the "Blessed"s or would he give me the "Woes"?

Would he look at my 401k as a fancy new barn to store up the stuff I rolled over from the old barns.

Would he see any levity in the energy we spend on arguing over "tongues" "creeds" and "parties" (both political and social) in contrast to feeding people and reaching the untold millions.

What would be His reaction as we sat before the TV and watched a little Christian programming. Glitz and glory- where would it go?

Thank God for His grace and the fact that He loves his children. But I imagine He would grimace at some of our rational, relevant presuppositions.

(Please understand- I'm just asking myself these questions- knowing that people have been penalized personally, professionally and mortally for asking such. (Seriously, I don't think dangerously, important people read my blog so I'm not exactly (life in the balance) St. Joan.)

By the way, what price have I paid, what gift have I brought that has caused me pain? Hmmm... Time to change the subject.

I think I'd have a lot of explaining to do for me and the system where i hang my hat.

Please don't take this as an indictment. I'm just asking myself these questions. Have been all day...

Most grandma's would say, "it never hurts to ask" This time it does.

The next question...Do I have the courage to change my actions tomorrow in order to make things different.

    que matrix sounding music

Jesus enters the Tower of Babel located in your favorite small city trying to be bigger than ever intended.

He begins to run toward the control tower.

    Jolts into a flying sidekick.

camera angle swings 360 degrees to show his perfect form...

The control panel is knocked over.
He stands over it and stretches out his hand.
The various cables begin to float and twist together as they are pulled mystically towards the outstretched wrist of Christ. By the time they make it to his grip they are braided into a post-modern-emergant whip.

The rest of this scene is far too violent for this blog....
