    There once was a man

who tried to control his life and had no idea how futile this chore would be. he worried when those closest to him brought him pain. he rarely trusted anyone which made him hard to love and even harder to know. he seemed to have pure intentions but always had the hope that his life would be validated by achievement and positive results. he refused to rest for fear that he would lose his place. he second guessed his decisions and looked constantly into the rear view mirror wondering if he somehow missed the holy in order to care for his pain and emptiness. he wanted to prove his love for God and earn his way into acceptance.

until finally he surrendered to the reality of God's providence and the understanding that his God is sufficient and enough to bring him the joy he craved. the kind of joy that had nothing to do with the cause/effect law of the fallen world.
