cleaning out the notions

lately this is my life.
cleaning out the notions that have defined my actions
i know that truth is always prefered- even painful truth.
i've thrown away the concepts of John Wayne and Cinderella
the shoe rarely fits and the hat is never as white as I had hoped.
secrets, though sometimes mandetory are rarely theraputic
life works best when we don't hold our cards so close to the vest.

power is seductive and even the holiest of mentors are prone to wander.
nothing is sure when it is not based on faith.
some things will not change even when knees are calloused and eyes are red.
because prayer is more about my submission to God than it is about God's actions toward me.

Lord, keep teaching me and holding me close to you.
