From St. Augustine's Prayer Book
Monday, August 22, 2005 at 08:49AM For some odd reason I can't seem to keep away from "St. Augustine's prayer book." (I don't think W.A. Criswell would aprove- but it gives me so much comfort. I'm really not going catholic.
But there is something very worshipful about saying these prayers outloud or under my breath. Here's what I'm been praying between tasks today. Very healing...
Be merciful, Spare me, O Lord. Be merciful, Graciously hear me, O Lord.
From all evil, O Lord, deliver me.
From all sin, O Lord, deliver me.
From Thy wrath, O Lord, deliver me.
From a sudden and unprovided death, O Lord, deliver me.
From the snares of the devil, O Lord, deliver me.
From anger, and hatred, and all ill will, O Lord, deliver me.
From the spirit of fornication, O Lord, deliver me.
From lightning and tempest, O Lord, deliver me.
From the scourge of earthquake. O Lord, deliver me.
From pestilence, famine and war, O Lord, deliver me.

"Sack of my soul..."
I think that describes this skin we've been given here on earth. :-)
