Concerned about rocketown

When I returned from Glorieta I came across a flier that one of the guys had gotten from Rocketown (Michael W. Smith's ministry to teens) for a heavy metal concert. The bands include "Bleeding Through" Their website has a picture of the band which makes it focal point of the shot a band member flipping the bird.

I read several interviews with the band- among the content includes a reverence for serial killers and murderers. I don't know if they are simply trying to shock people but the thing that i found most shocking was the statement: "In my mind there is a very fine line between the passion of love and murder."

I didn't sleep well last night struggling with my conscience. I've emailed Rocketown but no response. I'm wondering if they are no longer affiliated with ministry.

My heart dropped as I read this post. I went to the website for Rocketown Records and couldn't find anything. Then I searched for RCKTWN - which is the teen ministry (http://www.rcktwn.com) and found the flyer on the right-hand side of the page.

One of the other bands listed, 'Bury Your Dead' is also scheduled to appear at OZZFEST this year. Scary.

I went to the 'leadership' tab for RCKTWN - and Michael W. Smith is still listed as the head of the board of directors.

Thanks Derick. I'm sure you will pray with me about this. I know that the heart of Rocketown is not reflected in this show. I'm praying that this is just a horrible mistake.
