    Dear Lazarus

I have one question for you.
What were you thinking when in the halls of paradise
    as you ate ambrosia
and waited for the coming of the millennial age,
    free from pain,
    and thorns
    and feeble flesh
What were you thinking when you heard that familiar voice of Brother Jesus call out?
    "Come forth."
What did you say as the soul ride took you through the black holes from beyond to here?
back in the stench of dust earth.
    What a glorious, ugly miracle
Did you whisper to the King Jesus friend,
    "must i?"
