    firing off a flare

the primary purpose of this website is selfish in nature- my hunger to express personal, practical and spiritual thoughts and activities that might only be of interest to me and a few friends and family as well as a few dear people that i've never met in person. i'm not a mass emailer because i know how annoying that is sometimes-- so if you happen to be reading this- please pray for Darlene, myself and my family. pray that Darlene and I will be effective this weekend in Temple Texas. Marriage conferences are always such a heavy thing for us to do.  And pray for our guys who will be stewn across music city. i miss my louisiana family but this is when i really, really, really miss them in a practical way. please pray that i will remain focused on the task at hand and not worry about the kids while we're away. i'd greatly appreciate it!

OK... now back to your regularly scheduled blog...

    Completely understand!

2 of my 3 daughters (aged 16 and 13) spent 8 days in Nicaragua with the Baptist Medical and Dental Missions International. What a grueling week for me and my wife without them!

However, as I was reading this week from Bruce Wilkinson (spelling?) - 'our' children are not ours. They are the Lord's. We are graced with the opportunity to raise them for Him and His work.

Nevertheless, they are precious to us. Will remember you all this weekend.

    Go encourage & be encouraged.

Remember that where the Lord Guides, He Provides -- so He will take care of your guys while You are away doing what He has called you to do.

Have a wonderful weekend with your bride!

Have prayed that God would meet all your needs, right where you are - and do so as He always does: over and above that which we could even hope or imagine.

Of course it will be all right. You'll be fine. Enjoy!
