    question of the day

How does one react, cooperate with, people who do not want or wish to change? i suppose this is a question we all have to face. it is so difficult to negotiate and cooperate with these types of people that say, "this is who i am, deal with it," rather than being willing to listen- really listen... and open to redemptive merciful action. this pains me greatly.

so many think that if they wave the flag of surrender they have lost.

Lord, save me from this mode of operation. Make my heart open to change and growth. Arms wide open. Teach me to listen and welcome transformation into your image.

i know a fellow calling himself a pastor who lives by policies. one of his rules keeps him from calling people that he thinks are mad at hiim. so that when someone is hurting for whatever reasons, but has qualified for the do not call list...well you get the picture. i seem to read the events around the temple a bit different. goofy laws, too many kiosks in worship, and no compassion. Christ help us, please.

I hear your heart aching - I really do. It took me the first half of my life to learn how to take people where they are, instead of where I want them to be. I'm now spending the second half learning how to love them where they are. And then I realize how I need the Lord -- so much more now than ever before.

This stuff ain't always easy, is it?

    Thanks guys.

Rick, you are right. I should love them- God will change them. Thanks for that reminder.
