    she exists

    she'd never tell you
but she's on the very edge
    of the abyss
    and west of the cumberland
    two hundred miles away
she's there laying down her future
for the hope he'll somehow be there
    but he's gone
and there will be no laughter
    only lonely walls and steeples
    shouting psalms of hollow expectation
    and the heatbeat never ceases

    but then...
    there's grace
    flooding through the shadows
    on the wings of dawn
    there's grace
    from birth it's been there
    let it roll down
like a stone on sunday morning
    dawning coronation
    there's grace
    and glorious redemption
    tender, broken woman,
    He is singing to you
    alabaster blessed
    and he
    says
    come.
