    ministry from the blogosphere....

it's been such a ministry to hear from friends of their prayers for me through email and comments. i am so blessed to have people and prayers surrounding me from all over the place. Today has been a much better day. I feel much more focused in my work. I have experienced a real release. During times of uncertainty it's been helpful to remember the people that I am accountable to. I must remember that I am doing what my bosses ask and that should be enough.

In my before blogging years, my m.o. when going through tough times was to lose sleep, get cynical, and become reactionary. What a difference the gift of blogging has made in my life. A gift from God.

it doesn't take much for my self-hatred mechanism to set in. It shoots out things like:

    Don't admit a hurt.
    Don't ask for help.
You're in way over your head.
    What you do is goofy.

Those statements lead to things like:

You might as well give up.
Look for something else to do that's more your size.
People are reeeally finding out about your lack of depth and intellegence.

It's a cycle that I must recognize and stop. Today I helped a deacon find a resource and it got me in touch with why i do what i do. It's not the "look what I can do" gig that stokes my fire. It's the "let me help you figure this out" gig. I love to help people even more than i enjoy writing and developing product.

Anyway, God is good. So's blogging...
