What God is saying to me today
Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 08:40PM Dear Matt,
Take a deep breath. You've been trying way too hard to please people. Remember, I never pleased everybody either. Slow down and trust the hunches I send your way. But beware of the hunches that disguise try to immitate my voice. Messages like,
"You are too scatterbrained to be used."
"There are a thousand people who could do what you do better"
and
"If you'd just work more hours and multitsk more, you'd be OK."
And while I have your attention, you will never be able to control your kids and your associates. I didn't- people are always going to disappoint you. Just love them with great love.
Remember that I love You as much as I love my Son Jesus. I don't think you'll ever get your brain around that one and even if you don't, just keep calling yourself "God's Beloved" and it might just sink in. I am in love with you. Are You in love with me? Or are you in love with the image you want other people to see when they see you. If you continue to do that, you'll be a cautionary tale like hundreds of other ministers. And if you DO end up a victim of your own carnal, selfish, ego-centered self, KNOW THIS: It won't change my love for you. My love and your actions are not interdependant on each other. My love's strong enough to stand on its own.
People are taking advantage of your generosity and it concerns me because you tend to get overwhelmed, angry and then depressed. Here's what I want you to do: abide in Me. Every time you commit to too many things in a day you are saying no to personal worship and our fellowship.
Your grandparents, give their love. We want you to know that this is your moment to dance with my Spirit. Don't just stand there guarding the punch bowl. The music has begun. What will you do?
