Sunday's obsessions...
Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 07:42PM Sunday went well... I think...- preached a challenging sermon for a traditional SBC church. A portion of my sermon notes are below. preparing for today's message made me hungry to write the book I've wanted to write for some time on worship, but i don't know if i can put up with all the internal selfpromotional crap that it takes to get a book out there. it's really strange but sometimes to get something done you have to be very assertive (which i am totally not) and you have to deal with people who look at you like-- "hey this guy thinks he's somethin' let's knock him down a notch or two... you'd think it'd be easier on the inside but it really isn't.
Anyway- i have to continually ask myself (and God, of course) why do I want to jump in that kettle. It's much less humiliating to just blog and imagine than it is to go through the publishing gauntlet however.
It's not a LifeWay problem. It's my problem. Any time you want to get something done you have to just take a deep breath and start diving. But my fortitude for it all is not strong usually.
