Just received this word from Jimmy Hester, the Chairman of the True Love Wait team. We spent a wonderful week with Goke in Athens this summer. He will be greatly missed.

I received this tragic news from Richard Ross this morning.

Josiah Adegoke (Goke) Adeleke was killed yesterday in a tragic bus
accident in Nigeria. Goke was a May 2003 graduate of SWBTS. Goke was
serving as professor of student ministry and chaplain of Bowen
University in Nigeria.

Goke graduated with one of the highest GPA's in the School of Christian
Education and was making plans to return to SWBTS for Ph.D. work. The
Nigerian Baptist Convention was preparing him for the role of
coordinating all student ministry for the convention. In recent days,
Goke had done important work in bringing the message of True Love Waits
to Nigeria. He was one of the principal speakers at the True Love Waits
Global Celebration held during the Olympic Games in Athens.

Goke was dearly loved by the youth leaders of Nigeria. He was father to
a houseful of beautiful children and husband to a faithful wife.

At this time, we have no other information related to final
arrangements. Those of us who were blessed by his life and found his joy
infectious smile as we picture his dancing before the throne this
morning.
