a personal prayer for the new year

Lord Jesus Son of God have mercy.

bring me into a deeper understanding of your love. give me courage to see all of You. Lord, i mourn over my sinful nature, i know that You have pursued me and i have many times been in hiding. i turn from the altar of self importance and i ask you to burn the wickedness from my life like the chaff.

Lord, open a deeper understanding of your desire for me.
So long have i toiled for meaningless achievement
vainity upon vanity
like layers
vanity upon vanity upon vanity
i have turned to my own way.
i have denied the very nature of Christ in me.
Lord, create a meeting place for us.
heal my fearful soul
so that i may live a dangerous life for You and You alone.
