open range

enjoyed the movie "Open Range" tonight. Great western. i could count the westerns I've watched in the past ten years on one hand but I found Duvall and Costner to be incredible. Costner has found the secret recipe for making a film work- hire Duvall. the cinematography- wonderful as well. i needed a little escapism and it filled the bill. my other two favorite Duvall films are "second hand lions" and "the apostle." But he really hasn't had a bad performance in a film that i've seen. (of course, for the past few years we've stuck mainly to the disneyesque rentals- kids and all...
