waiting and rehearsing
Sunday, November 28, 2004 at 04:17PM I've just about decided that i am getting too old to memorize lines for a Christmas show but here we go again. LifeWay's Christmas show has a preview performance Monday -i think. So I'm rehearsing my lines and the blog has offered me adequate temptation to take a break and blog. I'm hoping to put in some quality time with these lines. This way they can set in my brain for two nights before the preview.
This morning we had communion and I spoke on four simple ways Jesus came to earth: in grace, in humility, in glory and in our stead. I used the Philippians hymn and a little reading that I wrote a few years ago called Father and Son- it's a conversation between God the Father and the Son before Jesus left to be born on earth.
We did the Lord's Supper and I try to keep it very, very simple, since the deacons and I hadn't had a chance to draw up the plan. David Hayes did an admirable job with the music and I think everyone appreciated a service led by two people not one. What a concept!
